What is Anomia?

Anomia is the term used to indicate an abnormal difficulty retrieving words. It is the most common symptom of people with acquired disorders of language. Anomia can result from a disturbance in the sound of a word (phonology), the meaning of a word (semantics), or the connections between the two.
